I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta, originally from Iran. My academic background is in Chemical Engineering (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). My research focuses on the development and application of novel materials for advanced water treatment processes, specifically targeting Oil Sands Process Water (OSPW) in Northern Alberta.
Over the past few years, I’ve been honored with more than 15 prestigious scholarships recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement—a reflection of my self-motivation, resilience, and sustained performance.
Outside the lab, I serve as the Chair of the International Water Association Young Water Professionals (IWA-YWP) Canada. I lead a dynamic group of emerging water leaders, organize national conferences, and mentor early-career professionals across the country. I am passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, capacity building, and advancing global water sustainability.
